Based on early 20th century Kodokan Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling (ground fighting). The goal in BJJ is to gain a dominant position and uses joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent into submission. Class participants are assured of working up a sweat and building confidence.
Our Charlotte Jiu Jitsu School is led by Black belt Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Certified Combat Submission Wrestling Instructor, Former collegiate Junior All-American wrestler and Trainer for UFC Fighters Hermes Franca and Kurt Pellegrino – Jeff Jimmo. Read more about Jeff Jimmo here.
